‘Legend, machine’, Jurgen Klopp hails Mo Salah after Liverpool forward signs three-year deal at Anfield

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has described Mohamed Salah’s contract extension as the best decision for both the club and the player after the announcement of a new deal for the forward, hailing him a legend and machine.

With only a year left on his current deal speculation had begun to mount on the Egyptian star’s future, but an agreement has been found and he has now put pen to paper over a new three-year deal at Anfield.

Salah was voted the PFA Player’s Player and Football Writer’s Association Player of the year last season, with 31 goals and an FA Cup and Carabao Cup double for the Reds, but Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com that his best was yet to come.

Klopp said: “This is a special treat for our supporters to enjoy their weekend even more. I’m sure there will be some celebrations for this news tonight.

“Really pleased – really, really pleased. It’s the best decision for us and best decision for him. He belongs with us I think. This is his club now.

CHILDREN DISCOVERED IN UNDERGROUND CELL IN ONDO STATE No fewer than 50 children have been rescued from an underground apartment in a church in Ondo town, Ondo state . Defiwjumps.com gathered that the children were abducted and kept in the underground cell. The pastor of the church and other accomplices have been arrested by police detectives in the town in Valentino Area of Ondo. Monkey pox: Nasarawa confirms six cases in two LGAs Nasarawa State has confirmed six cases of monkey pox in two Local government areas. Confirming the outbreak of the disease in Lafia, the state commissioner of health, Ahmed Baba Yahaya  said the first case was reported in Keffi Local government in May this year. According to the Commissioner, health care workers in the state have been sensitized and trained on the occurrence of the disease while drugs and essential commodities  have been procured  and treatment obtained in all general hospitals and the Federal Medical Centre Keffi. Boat mishap in Lagos: 4 bodies recovered Four bodies have been recovered from Friday’s boat mishap at Ojo area of Lagos. The four bodies, part of passengers in a W19 fibre boat carrying 16 passengers were recovered at Mile 2 area on Saturday. The boat capsized on Friday night. General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel , confirmed the recovery to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Sunday. HEALTH: Nigeria reports 204 rise suspected cases of Monkeypox in 6 months — NCDC The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has disclosed that between January and June, the country has recorded a total of 204 suspected Monkeypox, MPX, cases out of which  62 cases were confirmed to be positive. Disclosing these during a Virtual media dialogue on Monkeypox titled:”Monkeypox Spread, Infodemic and Public Health Response in Nigeria.”, the Incident Manager, National Monkeypox Emergency Operations Centre, Dr. Lateefat Amao , said between 2017 and June 2022, that about 25 States have recorded cases of Monkeypox in Nigeria.
